Dust Receivers
Dust receivers, also known as spinouts or vortex breakers, serve as invaluable enhancements for cyclones, particularly in demanding applications. Positioned at the base of the cyclone beneath the cone section, they create a collection zone crucial for preventing re-entrainment of collected particles within the cyclone vortex. This is especially important for smaller particulate that can be more easily stirred and recaptured by the flow of process gas.
Types of Dust Receivers
Standard
The go-to option for versatility and reliability across a broad range of applications.
Spinout
Ideal for high-pressure environments, this design eliminates the flat roof used in the standard dust receiver. This makes it easier for the collection cyclone to comply with ASME code requirements. The spinout design can also accommodate explosion vents on the top conical section, making it easier for the overall cyclone system to achieve NFPA compliance.
Straight Wall
Instead of a conical shape, this design features vertical walls. This type of design is most suitable for applications with low dust loading or where interior polishing is required. With the standard and spinout designs, there is at least one weld that cannot be polished. The straight wall design allows the welders in our machine shop to polish all interior weld locations on the dust receiver.
